I was shopping the other day at Meijer and was shocked to see eggs were now $1.99/dozen. I remember I used to think that was a great, high protein breakfast for my husband, since they were only 0.50/dz. Then I went back up to produce and saw my cheap “old-standby” bananas price had gone up as well! I know between these and all the other food prices that are going up, gas prices going up and the pay check NOT going up, we are looking for more ways to be Frugal. Just in time, this lovely blogger named Mary, is having a “Frugal Cooking Carnival”.
The goal is to put together 3 days of yummy and affordable menus. Serve it to your family anytime between now and the 25th, and then share it with the blogging world. Then we can all get some more ideas!
I’ll let you click on the button, or go to her blog, to read more about it. I’m going to try to do it on my own blog (though I’m not sure about getting a picture of our 3 days of frugal meals–I just realized we just ate a few of my ideas with no picture taken! I may have to recreate it.)
And, just an aside, I recommend you check out her blog even if you don’t want to take part. She’s an amazing woman, a great writer, and a mom to 10 kids!
