This book is a great short read to remind kids God gave us Christmas. I love that the book starts with the question “Who ‘vented Christmas? Was it Santa?” and the wise mother leads the little cub in discovering how God invented Christmas by sending his only Son as a baby, and Jesus is how God gave us Christmas. The book does mention Santa Claus, but reminds the Cub the true reason we celebrate Christmas. Now that my oldest is starting to understand the idea of Santa, I’ve struggled with how to present the idea, yet keep the focus on the TRUE reason for Christmas. I think the author does that very well here.
